Jo-Conclave-2024

The annual college fest, Jo-Conclave 2024 was held at St. Joseph’s College for Women on 19th April 2024. It brought together students, faculty, and participants from various colleges to celebrate talent and creativity across diverse domains.

The program was inaugurated at 10.30 AM, by Rev. Fr. Avinash, Administrator – MDES and Correspondent of the college along with Mr. Seby Mavely, CEO – Training and Development MDES and Dr. Prithvi Shirahatti, Principal shared the stage as dignitaries. Fr. Avinash , wished good luck and motivated students to stay focused in life. He lauded the college for continuously coming up with innovative events that help students develop attitudes and socio-emotional competencies, beyond traditional learning skills.

The Valedictory Ceremony of Jo-Conclave 2024 was graced by the KGF fame star, actress and dancer, Miss Archana Jois. She cherished her past memories with audience, lucidly addressed students to achieve in life. She threw light upon the importance of enjoying college life with values.

Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent, MDES graced the occasion with his presence for valedictory ceremony; in his presidential address said, “Learning is a continuous process. Events like these prove to be a great platform to unify people from diverse backgrounds and facilitate learning.” He urged the students to complement each other rather than competing against each other thereby creating a healthy society.

The cultural segment featured vibrant performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our country. Traditional dances, music concerts, and theatrical performances captivated the audience, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for diversity.

Jo-Conclave 2024 witnessed massive participation of students from various colleges from Mysore, which resulted in the exchange of insightful ideas and interesting connections being made by the students. A total of 130 students from various  colleges in the city registered for the 10 competitions while a total of 61 participants were declared winners.

An array of events ranging from management to technical to literary and cultural events were held at Jo-Conclave 2024. The list of events is as follows:

Management Events:

Trade Titans – Marketing Competition;

 Human Resource – Value Visionaries;

Computer Science Events: Spectrum Seranade – Poster Presentation Competition;

Web Wonders – Web Page Designing;

Literary Events: Typing Master, 

Crystal Curtain- Scene enactment competition on Shakespearean Plays, Kannada Debate competition, Hindi Elocution – Vicharon ka Vaktavya  ;

Cultural Events: Solo Dance, Group Dance.

Overall Championship was won by: – 

Winners : St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous)
Runners Up: Sheshadripuram Degree College

The college fest was a resounding success, celebrating talent, innovation, and creativity across cultural, management, marketing, and computer domains. It not only provided a platform for students to showcase their skills but also facilitated networking and learning opportunities, enriching the academic experience.

Staff Trip

Teaching and non-teaching staff enjoyed a trip to Coorg
