National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is indeed a youth-oriented organization in India. It was launched in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the youth through voluntary community service. NSS volunteers engage in various activities such as tree planting, cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, awareness campaigns on health, literacy, and social issues, among others. The NSS aims to instill in students a sense of civic responsibility, social awareness, and empathy towards marginalized sections of society. It operates under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India and is implemented through educational institutions across the country.
